LinkedIn Carousel Size, Format, and PDF Specs
A practical reference for LinkedIn document carousel dimensions, supported formats, upload limits, and export checks.
LinkedIn carousels are commonly uploaded as document posts. Use one consistent portrait or square page size, export as a flattened PDF when possible, keep the file under 100 MB and 300 pages, and add a document title during upload.
There is no single required carousel dimension
LinkedIn accepts document pages rather than prescribing one special ‘carousel’ canvas. In practice, square and portrait pages are popular because they use feed space effectively on mobile. Consistency matters more than choosing a fashionable ratio.
Choose the format before design and keep every page identical. LinkedIn warns that mixed page sizes should be fitted to the same size before upload.
Supported document formats
LinkedIn currently supports PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC, and DOCX for document posts and recommends converting to PDF where possible for upload quality. A flattened PDF also reduces surprises from missing fonts, layers, or layout reflow.
Pre-publish validation checklist
Check file size, page count, page dimensions, font embedding, image sharpness, and whether links use secure URLs. Animations are not supported in document posts and display as static content.
- • Every page has the same dimensions.
- • The cover is readable at feed size.
- • The PDF opens without a password.
- • No text or logo is clipped.
- • The document has a clear upload title.
Why shorter usually wins
The technical limit is not a content recommendation. A focused 6–10 page deck is easier to finish than a 40-page report. Add pages only when each one contributes a distinct step, example, or piece of evidence.
